Summer Youth Ensemble

Performance opportunities for dancers ages 8 and up.

About

Join NPD’s Summer Youth Ensemble!

Perfect for students who love to perform and want to keep up their skills in the summer! The Summer Youth Ensemble is for dancers who want to continue to perform throughout the summer and have the opportunity to work with NPD’s amazing faculty on artistry and stage presence. Summer Youth Ensemble allows dancers to experience performing live on stage at community events with a light training schedule.

Each Summer Youth Ensemble will perform a different story 3 times from June-August for community organizations and events. Performance opportunities typically include Summer Reading Kickoff, Capital A’Fair, Family Day River Walk, BisMarket and Kid’s Summer Stage.

What are we looking for in a Summer Youth Ensemble dancer?

Northern Plains Dance is looking for dancers ages 8 and older who love to perform and can committ to at least one group of dates as well the rehearsals on Monday nights.

Dancing in the Summer Youth Ensemble requires a commitment of time and dedication from both the dancer and their parents. We are looking for dancers and parents with a positive outlook, who will support their fellow dancers and parents on the Ensemble and, most importantly, find joy in the experience of being part of the Northern Plains Dance family.

  • Attend a minimum of 1 class per week at Northern Plains Dance. Rehearsals are primarily focused on setting choreography and refining performance skills while regular technique classes provide dancers with the opportunity to hone their technical proficiency, improve strength and flexibility, and reinforce fundamental dance principles.
