We are excited to announce the guest choreographers for Dance+ 2020! Starting October 16, they will each come to Bismarck to work with our dancers, creating brand new pieces which will debut on the Belle Mehus Stage on February 28-29. Here is some information on the three talented guest choreographers this year:
Nadine DeLoughy, who first choreographed for Dance+ 2019, will be back with a piece set to Pink Floyd music. Her piece, Run, was an audience favorite from last year.
Nadine has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip hop, acrobatics, pointe and musical theater dance. After graduating from Newtown High School, Nadine continued her dance education with Pushing Progress, a contemporary dance company based in New York City under the direction of Calen J Kurka and Chris Hale. After her training and performing with Pushing Progress, Nadine went to Southern Connecticut State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science – Athletic Training degree and is a licensed practitioner in Connecticut. Nadine teaches and choreographs multiple genres of dance and is certified by Acrobatics Arts in Module One along with arial and handspring training.
Paul Gilliam started his ballet training in Ardmore, OK and finished in 2002 at the Houston Ballet Academy. He is happy to be in his fourteenth season with Dayton Ballet in the last seventeen years; while away he performed many leading roles, including Franz in Coppelia; Diana and Acteon; Basilio in Don Quixote; Esmeralda pas de deux; and roles in many contemporary works. During his years with Dayton Ballet he has performed as Escamillo in Carmen, Renfield in Dracula, Peter in Peter Pan, D’Artagnan in The Three Musketeers, and an Ugly Stepsister in Cinderella. He was a featured artist in Trinity and has performed many featured roles in The Nutcracker. Paul is choreographing for Dance+ for the first time in 2020.
Noëlle Davé is a recent graduate of East Carolina University where she received her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography. During her time at ECU, she worked with choreographers David Ingram, Danielle Sheather, Michel Kouakou, John Dixon, Tommi Galaska, Teal Darkenwald, Micah Geyer, and Joe Cotler. She also performed in repertory piece, Standing in Tears, staged by Koresh company members. Noëlle has been a featured soloist in BalaSole Dance Company’s 2018 NYC season where she performed at the Ailey Citigroup Theatre. She has choreographed numerous works, including a piece that was selected to perform at the regional American College Dance Association. Noëlle is also new to NPD and Dance+.
