Children’s Division
Ages 5 Years Through 8 Years
The Children’s Division gently guides young dancers as they continue their journey, building a strong foundation in movement and the fundamentals of dance. Classes nurture growing bodies and minds, encouraging coordination, focus, listening skills, and creativity—all in a joyful, supportive environment that celebrates every milestone along the way.
Note: While registration is based on age, faculty may move students to a more appropriate level. In the event of a level change, NPD office staff will contact you to complete registration in your new class.

Tuition is based on 18 week semesters (unless otherwise indicated in the class description)
Tuition Payment Options: Tuition payments are automatically scheduled into 4 monthly payments per semester. Unless the office is notified prior to the first payment. The account holder must provide a credit card or e-checking for payments to be deducted automatically on the designated due dates. See the Student Handbook for tuition due dates and details.
Price match: Bring in a registration document and/or invoice from another dance studio and Northern Plains Dance will match their hourly rate for the current school year. If NPD’s hourly rate is already less, you will receive 5% off for the current school year. New students only. Cannot be combined with other discounts.
Class Schedule
MINIMOVERS
Can’t decide between tap and ballet? In this combo class, your dancer doesn’t have to choose. This class introduces young students to both the elegance of ballet and the rhythm and energy of tap in one fun and balanced experience.
Ages: 4-6 years
Cost: $260 per semester ($65 per month with 4 monthly payments)
Schedule: 45 Minutes / Once a Week
Note: Students must be fully potty trained in accordance with NPD’s policy on toileting to take Mini-Movers.

Girls
- Hair secured out of face
- Solid color leotard
- Black footless tights or leggings
- Black tap shoes and pink ballet slippers
Boys
- Black fitted shorts or pants
- White crew neck shirt

BOYS IN MOTION
Specialized training for aspiring male dancers, this class is tailored to the unique needs of boys’ technique. Young men push themselves and each other to improve in a supportive environment that focuses on athleticism, strength, coordination, camaraderie and discipline. This class meets once weekly.

Ages: 4-7 years
Cost: $239 per semester ($59.75 per month with 4 monthly payments)
Schedule: 45 Minutes / Once a Week
Note: Students must be fully potty trained in accordance with NPD’s policy on toileting to take Boys In Motion.

HOMESCHOOL DANCE PROGRAM A
Our homeschool dance classes are thoughtfully designed to complement your home education journey. These classes provide a creative outlet for movement and expression while supporting physical education, fine arts, and social development. Held during the day to accommodate homeschool schedules, these classes offer a fun and focused environment where students can stay active, build confidence, and express themselves through dance.
We’re proud to provide thoughtful, age-appropriate dance training tailored to the unique needs of homeschool families in our community.
Ages: 5-8 years
Cost: $90 per 6-week session
Schedule: 45 Minutes / Once a Week

PREBALLET
School-aged dancers begin a more formal study of classical ballet, introducing them to ballet concepts such as turnout, positions of the feet and arms, and proper body placement. This class also emphasizes the importance of classroom etiquette, preparing dancers for success at the next level. At this level, students are able to add Pre-Dance or Pre-Tap to their schedule.
Ages: 5-7 years
Cost: $260 per semester ($65 per month with 4 monthly payments)

PREDANCE
Pre-Dance is designed for school-aged students ready to explore movement styles beyond ballet. In this upbeat class, dancers are introduced to basic jazz, contemporary, and hip hop techniques that help build strength, coordination, and agility.
Pre-Dance is a great fit for young movers who enjoy rhythm and expression. At this level, students also have the option to add Pre-Ballet or Pre-Tap to round out their dance foundation.
Ages: 5-7 years

PRETAP
Pre-Tap is a fun and energetic introduction to the rhythm and musicality of tap dance—perfect for dancers who love to make noise with their feet. Students explore basic tap steps and combinations while developing coordination, timing, and a strong sense of rhythm. This class is a great way to build foundational skills in a playful, structured setting. Dancers at this level can also add Pre-Ballet or Pre-Dance to their schedule for a well-rounded experience.
