Volunteer at NPD
Volunteers play a vital role in the success of Northern Plains Dance.
We offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, and actively seek a volunteer base with a full range of skills, interests, and schedules.
Volunteers gain experience at one of the area’s most active nonprofit arts organizations as it works to use the power of dance to create positive social change. Help is welcomed year-round, and whether you can contribute a few hours each season or a full work week, there are many ways to engage as a volunteer! At Northern Plains Dance, our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and dance experience is NOT a requirement.
Student Volunteer Opportunities
Northern Plains Dance welcomes student volunteers for a variety of activities. We are able to accommodate tricky schedules and volunteer requirements for organizations like National Honor Society. This is also a great opportunity to gain work experience in a professional arts environment.

Become a Volunteer
Administration
Administrative volunteers serve in various roles at the studio during business hours. All skill levels are welcome to help in any department with general clerical duties. One can volunteer on an occasional basis for special projects or on a weekly basis.

- Data Entry
- Mailings
- Office Organization
- Answering Phones
Production
The busiest time of the season for staff is during performances. Volunteers are needed to assist staff with Front of the House duties at each performance.

- Greeting patrons
- Ushering
- Box Office
Backstage
Go behind the scenes and see how the magic happens. Backstage volunteers help take care of our youngest cast members, assist with set and costume changes, and help things run smoothly during the performance. (This requires a commitment to work the entire production run, including dress rehearsal.)

Hospitality
Assist with planning, coordination, and staging of special events during the season.

Boutique
Northern Plains Dance’s souvenirs have become a favorite tradition for audience members. From hundreds of Nutcrackers in December to tutus and crowns in the spring, everyone can find something to treasure for years to come. Volunteers help make the experience extra special.
