Sensory-Friendly Performances

The Wizard of Oz

May 9, 2026 | 10:30AM
Belle Mehus Auditorium

Join us for a special performance designed for two very important audiences:

  • For those with sensory sensitivities – We’ve created a welcoming theater experience with lower sound levels, softer lighting, and a relaxed atmosphere where it’s okay to move, make noise, or take a break.

  • For families with little ones – Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, this performance is shorter in length and includes a live narrator to help guide the story in a fun, easy-to-follow way.

It’s the perfect introduction to live theater—gentle, inclusive, and full of magic for everyone!

Sensory-Friendly Performances are specially designed for children and adults with sensory sensitivities, autism, or other developmental, cognitive, or physical disabilities—and their families and caregivers. If traditional theater or movie experiences have been difficult, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy live performance in a supportive environment. We provide a judgment-free, fun, and welcoming experience for everyone. Unlike typical public performances, we encourage movement, vocal reactions, and self-expression! All children must be accompanied by an adult, and we warmly invite caregivers and family members of individuals with disabilities to join.
