An update on classes for currently enrolled students
Rather than canceling the spring semester, we have moved our in-person classes to an e-learning environment. Students are receiving online class content tailored towards their individual levels. The Academy staff is working diligently to provide new content every week and will being introducing additional resources soon. If you have any questions or concerns about accessing the new online classes be sure to check your junk mail box and please don’t hesitate to reach out to staff at dance@northernplainsdance.org.
Our virtual classes will end May 9, keeping the same schedule as our calendar. As of this date, we plan to hold 4 weeks of makeup classes from July 6-July 31. Classes will be held on a slightly reduced schedule, but will resemble what our 2019-2020 class schedule. You do not need to re-enroll, or sign up for these classes if you are a currently enrolled student.
Please refer to the below chart to see how many make up classes your student will receive based on their class enrollment.

Not every section of each class will be offered as this will be a reduced schedule, but you may attend multiple sections of the class(es) you are enrolled in in a week to make what is available work for your summer schedule.
For example: if you are in Creative Movement, you may come to 1 class each week in July for a total of 4 makeup classes, or you may come to 2 classes each week for 2 weeks, for a total of 4 makeup classes.
If you have withdrawn from classes during this time, you are still eligible for some in-person make up classes to be held in July based on your withdrawal date. An NPD staff member will contact you directly regarding your eligibilty for in-person makeup classes.
While the schedule is not yet finalized, you can expect the same high level of instruction you have come to expect from Northern Plains Dance. In addition, we will create hygiene provisions in line with CDC recommendations, including but not limited to staggered class start times and sanitizing procedures at the beginning and end of each class. This is subject to change as we monitor the situation daily.
At this time, placement and registration for the 2020-2021 school year has been postponed. Registration dates for current and new students will be determined at a later date. Once we have these dates, we will email families and post on our website.
